🌿 ✝️ The Holy Spirit is God Himself dwelling inside us: John 14:15-17, John 14:23, Romans 8:9 . This is an incredible miracle, made possible only because through faith in Jesus' sacrifice we are righteous in God's sight: 1 John 1:9, Romans 3:20-22 .

• This is called baptism with the Holy Spirit: Matthew 3:11-12, 1 Corinthians 12:12-13 .

🌿 Christ erasing our sin and the Holy Spirit filling us enables us to walk according to the Spirit and have our outlook shaped by the things of the Spirit: Romans 8:1-6 .

• We must give control of our lives over to His Spirit in us, walking in His ways, instead of living the way our old nature wants to live: Galatians 5:16-25, Ephesians 5:15-21 .

• Conversely, you grieve the Spirit when you follow the desires of your old nature: Ephesians 4:22-32 .

🌿 In Jesus' final teaching to His disciples before His crucifixion, He taught several things about the Spirit:

• It was actually better for us for Jesus to go away and send us the Spirit: John 16:7-11 .

• If we are truly His, Jesus will give us the Spirit as our Advocate. He will reside in us and teach us everything Jesus has said: John 14:15-17 , John 14:25-26 .

• ​The Spirit will testify about Jesus: John 15:26-27 .

• The Spirit will glorify Jesus and guide us into all truth: John 16:13-15 .
