👥 🌎 Be generous towards others (2 Corinthians 9:6-7), especially those who can't always fend for themselves (e.g. widows, orphans, immigrants): Leviticus 19:33-34, Isaiah 58:6-11, Matthew 25:31-46 .

👥 🌎 Be kind to those who might be less lovable: Matthew 9:9-13 .

👥 🌎 Love makes up for a lot of mistakes: Colossians 3:12-14 .

🌎 Jesus has even told us to love our enemies (Matthew 5:43-47), because that is exactly what He did for us (Romans 5:8-10). This is also a practical and effective way to show unbelievers what God's love for them is like. Many people have not experienced undeserved love.

👥 🌎 Love leads to other important characteristics that we name differently, but really stem from love:

• Forgiveness:

  • ​Jesus said we should not put a limit on how many times we forgive others: Matthew 18:21-22 .

  • We have wronged God, and have been forgiven so much more than anyone has wronged us, so it only makes sense that we forgive them: Matthew 18:23-35 .

  • If you don't forgive others, God won't forgive you: Matthew 6:14-15 .

  • While hanging on the cross, Jesus said “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing." (Luke 23:34)

• Humility:​

  • ​Become like a little child in humility: Matthew 18:1-5 .

  • Take the "log" out of your own eye first: Matthew 7:1-5 .
