🌿 Come in humility and thanksgiving, not with solutions you want, but with your cares: 1 Peter 5:5-7, Philippians 4:5-8 . And entrust the outcome to God, saying in your heart "your will be done" as Jesus did: Matthew 26:36-46 .

🌿 Worship and praise Him, it alters your perspective, and aligns your heart with His: Matthew 6:5-13, Psalm 100:1-5 .

🌿 Prayer is not primarily about getting God to do things for us. But when you do ask God to do something, be mindful of these two things:
-
Ask for what is consistent with His will, as revealed in the Bible. Just like a loving earthly father, God is happy to give us what is truly good for us, but reluctant to give us what will be bad for us in the end: Matthew 7:9-11 .
-
Believe that God is all-powerful and able to do miracles that are good for us and His Kingdom: Mark 11:12-14, Mark 11:20-24, James 1:2-8 .

🌿 Our prayer should not always be about ourselves, but also for others and for Jesus' mission: Matthew 6:9-10, Ephesians 6:19-20, Matthew 9:35-38 .

🌿 🌎 Fasting can be a useful tool when seeking the Lord in prayer. It can be a way of focusing yourself, raising your prayer above everything else, including basic physical needs: Luke 4:1-4, Acts 13:1-3, Joel 2:12-13 . But fasting is not a lever to use to get God to answer your prayers. Instead, it is a tangible way to humble ourselves before God and align our will to His: Isaiah 58:3-11 .
